Åsne Seierstad: War Reporter
 – Norway

She has received numerous awards for her reporting from Kosovo, Chechnya and Afghanistan. She is fluent in five languages and can communicate in four others, allowing her to tackle subjects that other war reporters may shy away from. Her book about a bookseller in Kabul, his family and their struggle to survive the tragedy of civil war became an international bestseller. However, the author of The Bookseller of Kabul not only gained fame but also faced a legal dispute with the man whose family she lived with for several months and whose story she documented. In the book Two Sisters, also translated into Czech and Slovak, she delves into the story of two Norwegian women of Somali origin who decided to go to Syria to fight for ISIS in the name of their God and faith, based on interviews with their family, friends, and other people in their vicinity. In her book with fiting and chilling title One of Us: The Story of Anders Breivik and the Massacre in Norway she provides a detailed insight into Breivik, the worst mass murder of Norwegian history.
