Václav Kostelanski: Little and lesser people

Václav Kostelanski, born in 1982, comes from Považska Bystrica. His first book of short stories The Murderous Sentiment came out in 2013, his second, The Incident, in 2014. The student jury awarded his third book The Virtuoso (2018) with the René (Anasoft litera) Prize 2019. “While others follow the trend and immerse themselves in their own worlds, dissecting and self-analyzing (often, unfortunately, without any artistic transcendence or literary appeal), Kostelanski observes the world and reports on it in his dense stories,” wrote Miroslava Rosová in her Knižná revue review of The Virtuoso.
