 – Slovakia

Kristián Lazarčík (* 1999) is a writer and screenwriter. He studied at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. In 2021, he won an award in the Poviedka competition, and a year later he became its laureate.

In the summer of 2025, his literary debut Enfant Terrible si kupuje jednosmerný lístok (Enfant Terrible Buys a One-Way Ticket, FACE) is to be published. He is a co-author of the dramatic text for the production Noc v Istanbule (Night in Istanbul), performed at the P. O. Hviezdoslav Theatre, directed by Alžbeta Vrzgula. The production is based on Lazarčík’s short story Zrazenina (A Clot) and thematically follows the author’s interest in characters who cannot settle down in life or in their own bodies and repeatedly become entangled in relationship patterns oscillating between intimacy, violence and self-destructive grotesque.
