Juraj Koudela (* 1977) studied Slovakian language and literature and Polish language and literature. He had several jobs in corporations in Slovakia and Poland. His connection with Polish literature culminated by promoting the Polish school of reporting in Slovakia and founding of the Absynt publishing house with Filip Ostrowski in 2014, for which he translated several titles from Polish authors (Paweł Smoleński: Eyes Covered in Sand, 2015, Witold Szablowski: The Assassin from Apricot City, 2017, Wojciech Jagielski: The Night Wanderers, 2016, All of Lara's Wars, 2019, and East of the West, 2021). In literature, authorial language and play with form are important to him. His writing debut Kult rysa ostrovida (The Cult of the Lynx Lynx, 2024) is illustrated by artist Tomáš Klepoch.
