Ján Babarík: Maladies on the pillory

Ján Babarík (* 1970) has his works published in several short story collections and media. His book Pálenie mostov (Burning of Bridges) was published in 2013. He is a two-time finalist of the Poviedka literary competition (2008, 2009) and also a three-time finalist of the short story for children competition of the Perfekt publishing house. In 2009, he took first place in the Literárna Senica of Ladislav Novomeský. In 2018, he won second place in the literary competition Martinus Cena Fantázie, and in 2022 he won first place in the Fantasy Award competition. He has written six stand-alone books, most recently a collection of short stories Slovenská chrípka (The Slovakian Flu). The Lindeni publishing house is preparing the publication of his novel Statočný chlapík (The Brave Guy) in 2026.
