Tomáš Hučko:
– Slovakia

Born in Bratislava in 1983, Tomáš Hučko studied philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. He worked in the Franz Kafka Society and was a dramaturgist at the Studio Rote theatre association. In 2017, he founded Kapitál, a culture & society monthly. He works as a journalist and a translator, writes radio plays and is the author of the novel Chaconna (2018). The publisher’s blurb says: “We’re not creating stories, we’re just trying to present our own warped picture that we’ve come to believe while telling the story. What’s interesting is the fact that there’s no solution to this. There’s something disconcertingly dishonest about honesty. There is an agenda hidden behind any effort to tell the truth, some kind of a higher-order lie.”
